Who We Are

"Kampung Seanang' is Malay for 'Village of inner Peace'. It symbolises our vision and mission to care for people and our environment, as we believe each affects the other.


We are a volunteer-driven charity and education organisation, set up in December 1999. We need your generous support to continue with our services, including:

Establishment of Kampung Senang as a Day-Care Activity Centre for the elderly
2000
Start of our Mini Organic Farm at Tampines Block 840
Opening of our Student Care Centre in Tampines
2001
First Waldorf Playgroup in Singapore
2002
Free Medicine Clinic with western and Traditional Chinese medical services
2003
Formation of Gift of Good Food Scheme, now called the Gift of Organic Food scheme
Set up of Learning to Learn Centre in Kovan area to help special needs children
2004
Accepted as a full member of the National Council of Social Services. Granted tax exempt status for donors
Awarded Active Senior Volunteer Grant by Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports
Whole Child Nurture Centre and Waldorf Kindergarten services become operational
Launched of the Holistic Support for People Affected by Cancer (HSPC) programme
2005
Start of Weekend Mart & Eco Kitchen
Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sprots approved Integrated Student Care at our Learning to Learn Centre
Kampung Senang awarded a Volunteer Initiative grant of S$86,000 by the National Volunteer Philanthropy Centre. The grant was allocated to fund the HSPC's Gift of Good Food Scheme
Our Mini Organic farm wons 2nd Prize in the National Park Board's "Community in Bloom" contest
North-East Community Development Council awarded a Cyclical Maintenance Grant of $12,000
National Council of Social Services gave kampung Senang a subisidy for phone bills
Co-founder Joyce Lye awarded the Good Samaritan Award
2006
Our Mini Organic Farm wons 1st Prize in the National Park Board's "Community in Bloom" contest
Set up Aljunied Holistic Lifestyle Centre and Mobility Aids Services and Training Centre
2007
Formation of Eco-Hamrony Speakers Network and Global Social Enterprise project
2008
Renewal of 3-year IPC status by NCSS and 2-year childcare licence by MCYS
Kampung Senang's Wheels of Hope project awarded Best NGO Initiative Award by NVPC
2009
Centralised computerisation of database and management system for all five service centres and its social enterprise project
