Elderly Day Care Centre

The NorthEast Kampung Senang Activity Centre is a holistic day care centre for the elderly and school children, whose family members are out at work during the day.

The Kampung Senang family is built on a solid foundation of love and respect. We provide an elderly care centre that has a serene and relaxed atmosphere. We respect the elderly's independence and freedom, and do our best to create a natural and open environment for their daily activities and social interactions. We encourage them to participate in the centre's social and recreational activities. The elderly, volunteers, staff and residents interact so well that they are like one big happy family that loves each other.

Services
Managed by a team of trained staffs, the Centre provides day care services as well as enriching activities such as gardening, educational talks, physical exercises, handicraft workshops, water-colour painting classes, relaxation exercises (eg. Yoga & Meditation) and other social and cultural programs.

By special arrangement, the Centre facilitates rehabilitative therapy for those whose limbs are affected by stroke, arthritis and other debilities.

Physiotherapy services are provided twice a week as a collabrotation programme with Metta Wellness Associaton. TCM services also availbale for elderly under our care.

The Centre provides healthy meals comprising one lunch and two tea-breaks daily. The meals are prepared to supplement and nourish the physical well-being and mental health of the elderly.

The Centre also provides after-school care services to children / grandchildren of the Elderly registered with the Centre. This offers an opportunity for senior volunteers, their friends and peers, family and grandchildren to interact, share and care for one another and for the elderly, thereby enriching their lives.

We Care for All Races
The Centre is open to Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents of all races who are:

1. At least 55 years of age
2. Mobile and capable of independent movement with or without light walking aids; not bed-ridden nor severely wheel-chair bound
3. Capable of eating and drinking without medical / nursing observation
4. Mentally fit
5. Willing and able to accept and consume healthy meals
6. Environmental - friendly meals provided

Honorarium
The honorarium to defray the cost of the day care service and the meals will be set according to the total family income of the elderly.

For the poor and needy who posses Public Assistance cards, the use of our Centre's service is free.

The Centre will provide free services to elderly members of families who pledge or donate regularly to the Centre.
